Sesame Seed

Sesame Seed

In Paraguay, the sesame plant is found in most of the tropical, subtropical, and southern temperate areas. Depending on conditions, sesame varieties grow from about 0.5 to 2.5 metres tall, and come in a host of different colours, depending upon the variety, including white, yellow, black and red. Sesame crops survive drought and also presence of excess water, in part due to its extensive root system, however the highest-yielding crops thrive best on well-drained, fertile soils of medium texture and neutral pH.

Typically, the seeds are about 3 to 4 mm long by 2 mm wide and 1 mm thick and need to be harvested as dry as possible and stored at 6% moisture or less. If the seed is too moist, it can quickly heat up and become rancid. After harvesting, the seeds are usually cleaned and hulled. Once the seeds have been hulled, they are passed through an electronic colour-sorting machine that rejects any discolored seeds to ensure perfect colour.

    Black Beans Copy

    black beans from Argentina

    Black Beans

Argentina exports 97% of their production of beans with a lot the countries production going to neighbouring Brazil. Estimates state total planted hectares between 380 and 400 thousand hectares of beans, with Black Bean being the most popular with farmers.

Black beans are relatively small and have a shiny black colour with a soft neutral flavour with a slight earthy flavour. They also have one of the best nutritional profiles amongst the beans, with good content of iron (5mg) and calcium (123mg), 0 cholesterol and low in fats (1.5g).

TradeLink International sources their beans from the northern regions of Argentina, mainly Salta, but also regions such as Tucuman and neighbouring regions.

Each order is tested regardless of whether the batch has already been tested and we look for moisture content to be below 18% as well as pesticides and heavy metals, all of which must comply with the legislation of the country of destination for it to pass our QA controls.

    Organic Lentils

TradeLink International is introducing a new line which is certified organic lentils. We have both green, red and black, and can do whole or split. As anyone buying lentils knows, colour and quality vary from crop to crop and according to seasonal variations. This especially effects the color of the green lentils which do not mature evenly on the vine. Lentils are a chief part of many diets and consumed in several ways - soaked, germinated, boiled, fried and baked.

TradeLink has a number of professional sources for different regions to give a continuous source of quality product. We make sure the conditions under which lentils are grown as required – on a firm, smooth seedbed with most of the previous crop residues incorporated. For the seed placement and for later harvesting it is important that the surface is not uneven with large clods, stones, or protruding crop residue. It is also important that the soil is made pliable and weed-free so that seeding could be done at a uniform depth.

    Cassava Flour

    cassava flour

    Cassava Flour

A Game-Changing, Single-Ingredient, Gluten-Free, Grain-Free, Nut-Free flour with the taste and texture of wheat, without the dry, strong or unfamiliar taste or texture that often comes with using some gluten-free flours!

Cassava is a calorie-rich vegetable that contains plenty of carbohydrate and key vitamins and minerals. Cassava is a good source of vitamin C, thiamine and riboflavin. Its composition is about 60% to 65% water moisture, 20% to 31% carbohydrates, and less than 2% protein and fat.

This type of flour is easy to use in recipes in place of traditional grain-based flours or even gluten-free flour blends. One of the best things about using cassava flour is its neutrality in terms of taste.

    Raw Organic Cacao Nibs

    cacao-nibs

Made from Raw Organic Cacao Beans grown in the Peruvian Mountains, our cacao nibs come from de-husking or peeling whole cacao beans and then crumbling them into nibs. These raw nibs are crunchy, flavorful, and packed with powerful nutrients, antioxidants, and fiber. These cacao products cater to the consumer who appreciates the cacao’s natural nutritional benefits. These products are not toasted, which means they are technically “raw” because they are processed at low temperatures (below 45ºC (110ºF)) which preserves the beans natural health properties.

Cacao is considered as one of the best anti oxidants due to its high poly-phenol content and high mineral content. These products have no additives, and are free of allergens, GMO, BSE/TSE and any irradiation process.

Each order is tested regardless of whether the batch has already been tested and we look for moisture content to be below 18% as well as pesticides and heavy metals, all of which must comply with the legislation of the country of destination for it to pass our QA controls.

    Raw Organic Cacao Butter

    cacao-butter

Cacao Butter is the edible fat extracted from the raw cacao bean.

    Red Kidney Beans

    Red Kidney Beans

Our Red Kidney Beans are a variety of the common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), native to South America. Kidney beans are a good source of several vitamins and minerals, such as molybdenum, folate, iron, copper, manganese, potassium, vitamin K1 and phosphorus.

These popular beans are kidney shaped and are especially good in simmered dishes where they absorb the flavors of seasonings and the other foods with which they are cooked.

Our Red Kidney Beans are typically harvested at complete maturity as dry beans, requiring around 95 days from germination to harvest, we can offer both conventional and organic.

    Decorticated Chickpeas

    Chickpeas

Chickpeas have one of the highest nutritional compositions of any dry edible legume. These chickpeas have a specialized skin removal process obtained by passing through abrasive steps, keeping the proteins and nutrients of the chickpea unharmed.

Decorticated chickpeas are ideal for obtaining a smoother flour with no dark discoloration and much finer as the thick skin has been removed.

    Organic Tapioca Syrup

    Organic Tapioca Syrup

The source of tapioca syrup is cassava, or manioc. A brown-skinned tuberous root that grows in parts of Asia, Africa, and South America, cassava is plucked from the ground, ground into starch, and then, with the helpful use of acid hydrolysis or modern-day enzymes, broken down further into syrup.

High in starch, tapioca syrup is commonly used in the production of other foods or as a replacement for corn syrup, sugar, honey, maple syrup and molasses in baked goods. Tapioca syrup provides the sweetness needed in a natural way. When used as a binding agent, tapioca helps to keep foods such as meats from drying out after they are processed.

Depending on the application, tapioca syrup can impart a rich flavor or be used as a color-and-flavor-neutral base for confections and beverages. The syrups are highly soluble and provide immediate, long-term and balanced energy release through the distribution of simple and complex carbohydrates.
